Our new Intro Crossing course is designed for our training partners who have a need for grade crossing warning training, but may not require wayside signal training.
The first phase of this two-week program imparts basic, fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for all safety-related employees. The second phase concentrates on the proper maintenance and testing of Grade Crossing Warning Systems. Students can either attend the phases concurrently, or separate the phases during the training year.

STS is pleased to announce that our Signal Training Program has been recognized and officially approved by the Federal Railroad Administration per Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 243.
STS is honored to be approved by the FRA and acknowledged by the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS). The approval and endorsement, along with our commitment to a higher standard of instruction, demonstrates our legitimacy and sincerity to train signal and communication personnel in an approved and consistent manner.

This new, one-week PTC training and qualification program examines typical setup and testing procedures for PTC wayside signal locations. Your personnel will gain the essential skills and knowledge necessary for the proper testing, verification and maintenance of these safety critical systems. This program will also insure your personnel are cognizant of all applicable FRA regulations concerning Positive Train Control.
The PTC Training Program will be offered November 10 – 14, 2014 at our Grain Valley, MO facility. Call for more information.

Our facility now offers approximately 4,500 SQ. FT. of lab floor space and three
comfortable classrooms. This expansion allows STS even greater flexibility and the
ability to meet the training needs of our customers.

This new program allows participating railroads the ability to manage their employee
training, and stay compliant with the new FRA Regulations. The system offers secure,
24/7 access to the following features:
- Attendance, training completion, and cancellations records
- Training hours and assessment scores records
- View and print status reports to demonstrate training compliance
- View and print employee transcripts
- View and print employee training plans

Signal Engineering Training Program (SET 1)
This program is designed to impart the basic and advanced skills and knowledge necessary
for today’s entry-level Signal Engineer. Many important concepts and techniques
will be thoroughly studied during this multi-phase program. The entry-level course
will enable participants to apply essential skills and knowledge and contribute
to their organizations immediately.

Our new facility offers approximately 3,000 SQ. FT. of lab floor space and two comfortable
classrooms. The new STS facility, along with our recent acquisition of the equipment
and simulators formerly utilized by the Mid-America School of Railway Technologies,
assures a practical and effective training approach.
The spacious STS Lab contains equipment and systems from the leading
manufacturers and includes fully functional: CTC Simulators, Power Operated Switch
Layouts, Automatic Block Simulators, Track Circuit Simulators, Crossing Warning
Simulators, Crossing Gate Mechanisms, Electric Locks and SWCC’s, and a variety of
other signal equipment/systems.
